Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Planning & Advisory:Develop and implement customized tax strategies for individuals and businesses to minimize liabilities while ensuring adherence to New York State and federal tax laws.
   Identify potential tax-saving opportunities, incentives, and credits to enhance clients' financial positions.
   

2. Tax Compliance:Prepare, review, and file accurate tax returns for individual and corporate clients, ensuring compliance with IRS and New York State regulations.
   Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, advising clients on their implications and necessary adjustments.
   

3. Risk Management & Audit Support:Evaluate tax risks associated with clients’ financial decisions and business operations, providing strategies for effective risk mitigation.
   Support clients during tax audits and inquiries, ensuring that appropriate documentation is in place and compliance is maintained.
   

4. Research & Analysis:Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and regulatory changes, providing clients with actionable insights and recommendations.
   Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and strategies to clients and internal stakeholders.
   

5. Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, serving as their primary contact for all tax-related matters.
   Effectively communicate complex tax issues and solutions in a clear, concise manner to clients and team members.
   

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate with accounting, legal, and other teams to provide integrated solutions to client challenges.
   Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities to support client engagements and ensure compliance.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (CPA/EA) preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax advisory, tax compliance, or a similar role within a recognized firm in New York.

• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to New York.

Preferred Skills:

• Professional certifications such as CPA, EA, or equivalent credentials are highly desirable.

• Experience with industry-specific tax issues, including real estate, financial services, or high-net-worth individuals.

• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail-oriented work.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
